Inizio is a cozy, pasta-focused restaurant in beautiful Elmwood Village. Freshness comes first here—we make everything we can from scratch in our kitchen, and we haven’t begun cooking your pasta until the moment you order it. Our motto, “tutto fatto a mano” translates to mean “everything made by hand,” and we believe that the personal connection to the preparation process can be tasted on the plate.
While scratch-made pasta is our primary focus, we also offer a selection of small plates inspired by the rich bounty of the Italian cucina.
To complement our food, we serve a wide range of delicious wines and cocktails, carefully curated by our bar team, with the understanding that food and drinks are meant to be enjoyed together in good company.

- Takeout is only available by calling the restaurant. We do not use any third party applications to facilitate takeout. We may suspend takeout orders when the volume of business exceeds our ability to fully accommodate our in-house guests.
- For the safety and wellbeing of our staff we lock our doors immediately after our final reservation is seated, so closing times may change based on business levels.
- Reservations for up to 4 people are available to book online. Reservations for 5-8 people are limited and can only be made by calling the restaurant during our regular business hours. Accommodations for groups larger than 8 are usually not possible, but inquiries can be made by emailing us at inizio716@gmail.com.
- All bookings require a valid credit card number to secure and are subject to our cancellation fee as outlined on our RESY profile.
